Loyal Source Government Services is looking for a qualified Psychiatrist to work as a civilian contractor promoting and restoring patients’ health. Must be Board Certified or Eligible in Psychiatry. Must have a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the U.S. or District of Columbia. Candidates who have ever had a license restricted, suspended, revoked, voluntarily revoked, voluntarily surrendered pending action or denied upon application will not be considered. Must have current DEA Registration in any state. Must have current BLS Certification. Must be able to speak, understand, read, and write English fluently. Must be a U.S. Citizen. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS: The duties include but are not limited to the following: Provide psychiatry services at the Bath VAMCs out-patient population. Psychiatrist will provide treatment/evaluation/consultations to approximately 10 patients per day (a 187 Domiciliary Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program or Behavioral Outpatient Clinic); 60 minutes for new patients and 30 minutes for follow up patients. Providers will also be required to provide services utilizing the Tele-health system. Provider(s) will be responsible for diagnosing, treating and managing psychiatry patients according to current standards of care. Services to be performed include, but are not limited to: performing assessments/examinations on initial encounters with unscheduled, emergent, urgent, and new patients; coordinating patient treatment plans; ordering appropriate diagnostic tests; recommending patients for hospital admission; and documenting in the computerized medical record. Responsible for providing psychiatry care, but not limited to: Evaluation, Treatment and Management: Employment of the principles of care for life/limb threats, resuscitation and stabilization, triage, diagnosis and disposition. Initial evaluation, emergent treatment. Draft Treatment plans for patients. Order and monitor appropriate medications for patients Order and monitor the results of diagnostic testing Evaluate, order and incorporate other specialties’ into the treatment plan. Complete all patient documentation in a timely manner utilizing the CPRS system Perform services utilizing Tele Healthcare (Tele-healthcare services are used to treat virtually every mental health diagnosis, including Anxiety disorders/PTSD, psychotic disorders, etc. via Clinical Video Teleconferencing.) Provide all duties on an inpatient and outpatient provider. Provide admission, discharge and treatment to patients. Inpatient Admissions: Provider(s) shall review all admissions to inpatient hospital care recommended by Mid-level (Provider Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) provider. Every admission to inpatient care shall have a person-to-person hand-off/hand-over from the admitting Provider to a responsible member of the admitting team. Consultation and Referral Responsibilities: Provider(s) shall provide consultation with and instruction to referring provider regarding appropriate indications for procedures so that the most expeditious and clinically appropriate work-up can be done. Provider(s) shall determine the appropriate course of treatment and communicate in person or by phone with the referring clinicians. Provider(s) shall initiate appropriate social work referrals for all identified homeless veterans and for patients who do not have primary care providers, but who appear regularly in the clinic. Medications: Provider(s) shall follow all established medication policies and procedures. No sample medications shall be provided to patients.
