The Virginia Treatment Center for Children (VTCC) is the Pediatric Division of VCU Health's Department of Psychiatry and is currently seeking dynamic Child & Adolescent Psychiatrists to to join our growing team. A new state of the art center will be opening in 2017 with expanded capacity for inpatient and outpatient, research and teaching facilities
Responsibilities:
--Provide Psychiatric Assessment, monitoring and therapy to Children and Adolescents with developmental and intellectual disabilities including autism and ADHD
--Provide inpatient and outpatient treatment and consultation in community settings either on-site or through Telepsychiatry
--Teach and work with Medical Students, Residents and Fellows
--Research opportunities
--Collaboration with interdisciplinary team including Pediatricians, parents, schools and other Child Service Organizations
--Rotational call for inpatient services and admissions
Qualifications:
--BE/BC Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist
--Interest in working in Public Psychiatry
--Experience with Telepsychiatry and teaching experience preferred
Virginia Treatment Center for Children operates a 26 bed licensed inpatient acute service, outpatient services, the Commonwealth Institute for Child and Family Studies and the Children's Mental Health Resource Center
The Virginia Treatment Center for Children operates a 26 bed licensed inpatient acute service, outpatient services, the Commonwealth Institute for Child and Family Studies and the Children's Mental Health Resource Center. Parents of children with mental and behavioral health problems look for help from the professional expertise offered by Children's Hospital of Richmond at VCU. Services are provided through two separate and distinct programs, each with its own special areas of focus in caring for troubled children and their families.
The Virginia Treatment Center for Children (VTCC) offers both inpatient programs – including acute care crisis stabilization and evaluations – and outpatient programs – including evaluations, family and individual therapy and specialty clinics. Its programs are designed for children of school age through 17 years.
