Employee of Samaritan Medical Center (SMC)
Outpatient Behavioral Health; team model with psychologists, social workers and nurses
No scheduled hospital call
Salary of $210,000, with WRVU incentive package
Educational loan repayment program: $10,000 each year of contract
Designated location for New York State Regents Loan Forgiveness and NHSC
Relocation moving expenses up to $10,000

Samaritan Medical Center, a 287 bed, not-for-profit hospital, located in Northern New York, is seeking providers both for hospital based employment and private practice opportunities. Samaritan Medical Center (SMC) is just that - the center for healthcare across the counties, cities, towns and villages of New York's North Country. Located in the City of Watertown in Jefferson County, SMC is the largest provider of healthcare from Burlington, Vermont to Syracuse, New York - a total of 286 miles - catchment of 260,000 - with over 1,200 healthcare professionals. Diagnostic cardiac catheterization, interventional radiology, radiation oncology, neonatal intensive care, a sleep disorders center, and many advanced surgical procedures are only a few examples of the services that set Samaritan Medical Center apart from most hospitals of similar size. SMC postgraduate osteopathic training program also allows for teaching opportunities for those providers interested. SMC is unique in that we also support the healthcare for our local military base called Fort Drum. This is the only military base of this size that does not have their own hospital. Our solid financial outlook and strategic plan have resulted in a significant expansion and renovation project that will improve the entire Samaritan campus. Development of a parking garage, new patient tower and significant renovations to existing space will begin shortly. Samaritan organization exists for the sole purpose of caring for the people in our community...just as we have for over 125 years.
