Summary: The basic function of the Podiatrist is to provide the patient with the primary cost effective podiatric care, as a means of entry into the health care system, in a competent manner to diagnose and treat illnesses and disorders consistent with medical protocols.

Hours: This is a part-time position that requires the ability to work a flexible schedule. General daytime hours Monday – Friday with possible Saturday and evening work.

Position Responsibilities/Duties:
* Evaluates the patient’s total podiatric care needs and provides personal medical care within the scope of his/her competency.
* Performs assessment by interviewing, recording and interpreting medical and social history of the patient.
* Orders diagnostic or therapeutic procedures or lab testing.
* Develops an accurate identification of patients’ health problems based up correct interpretation of findings, record findings, lab and/or diagnostic results and existing medical records.
* Develops, implements and coordinates all aspects of a comprehensive health care plan for each individual.
* Manages the plan of care by monitoring the patient’s response to the therapeutic regimen, recording the patient’s process and counseling if needed.
* Admits and treats patients in the hospital if needed.
* Initiates referrals, when needed, to other health care providers and/or consulting physicians, offering counseling when needed, and documents all information regarding referral in the medical chart.
* Coordinates all aspects of patient care, including discharge and follow-up plans.
* Facilitates interaction and cooperation among health care staff involved in the planning and provision of health care.
* Participates in an active and ongoing medical audit program in the health center.
* Responsible for maintaining a current technical knowledge and is required to seek educational and professional opportunities to enhance clinical practice and competency.
* Perform other tasks as assigned by the President/CEO.
* Perform other tasks as assigned by the Medical Director.

Position Requirements:
* Must have valid NJ Podiatrist License (DPM)
* Valid CDS and DEA
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
