Physiatrist - Physician - (Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation - PM&R) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day

Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit in North Carolina needs a part-time Physiatrist. Coverage starts August for 4 to 8 hours Monday through Friday. The provider will not perform any interventions in the 10 bed unit. The medical center can accept board eligible candidates within 2 years of residency program. The unit daily patient load is approximately 2-10 depending on census. Patients admitted to unit require treatment for amputees, orthopedics, debility, etc. Physiatrist will need to be comfortable with electronic medical records. Also known as physiatry, physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM R) (locum tenens) is a medical specialty that is concerned with the diagnosis and treatment of patients with physical or cognitive disabilities. A physiatrist is a physician who specializes in the treatment of functionally limiting conditions and is trained in managing and facilitating rehabilitation from neurological or musculoskeletal disorders. Ultimately a specialty concerned with quality of life, physiatrists work closely with patients to bring about a return of functional capacities.

Required Qualifications
Board certified and board eligible candidates within two years of residency programs.
Clean and active North Carolina license.

Preferred Qualifications
Treating patients of all diagnosis in rehabilitation unit.
