We have a current critical need in Oswego, NY for a Medical Director. This would be an opportunity for those with or without wound care experience as we offer wound care training to all our physicians, which include HBO certification.

Position Definition: Full Time Medical Director - MD/DO
Start Date: Monday, December 5, 2016; Regular work hours (Mon – Fri 8a – 5p)
Position Description: The Medical Director will work with a dedicated team of nurses, HBO technicians and support personnel as well as with other physicians who may support the center from time to time. HealogicsTM operates outpatient wound care centers in hospitals throughout the country. There are 2 wound centers for this hospital, one on campus and the other off campus. The WCC in the hospital has 7 treatment rooms and 2 HBO chambers. The WCC off campus has 5 treatment rooms and 3 HBO chambers. Care is provided to over 350 patients annually and consists of patient care assessments, aggressive treatment such as wound debridement and use of advanced therapies such as Hyperbaric Oxygen.
Must have the following:
Board Certified MD/DO required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Clean clinical back ground and history
Must have active unrestricted NEW YORK Medical license
Ability to provide the medical oversight of clinical care delivered within assigned Healogics Wound Care Centers
Ability to collaborate with the AVP to develop and implement plans that assure CPGs are followed, desired clinical outcomes are achieved, physicians are supported in their practice and problems are resolved
Support staff:
Program Director – Responsible for promotion and development of referral streams as well as primary administrative contact between Healogics and hospital administration.
Clinical Nurse Manager – Responsible for daily clinical flow and operation.
Hyperbaric Safety Director – Responsible for working with the physician to deliver safe and timely hyperbaric therapy, inclusive of maintaining regulatory standards for this therapy.
Healogics Specialty Physicians is a division of Healogics that recruits, hires, and supports physicians who work in the wound centers. As a HSP physician, you will be part of a rapidly growing network of wound care professionals dedicated to healing wounds with the best means available. HSP supports all Wound Care Center Physicians with a comprehensive training program which includes HBO certification, a mentorship with an experienced regional medical director and ongoing support from and access to medical leaders. Healogics is dedicated to employing physicians to lead the Wound Care Center Team and improve the quality and access to all patients int he community who suffer from non-healing wounds.

Position Requirements:
Strong bedside manner and demonstrated ability to work well with patients and other clinicians.
Leadership abilities to manage care for multiple facilities and work well with a facility’s nursing and administrative staff.
Comfort in learning and becoming conversant in new clinical disciplines.
Ability to provide education and training for a facility’s nursing staff.
Current state licensures and up to date credentialing.
Familiarity with Documentation, Billing, and Coding protocols.
Compensation:
Competitive base and bonus structure tied to wRVU productivity, with no cap on upside potential
Healogics Wound Centers already operates inpatient, outpatient, and LTC wound programs
Physician does not need to start from scratch in building a practice
The physician’s marketing efforts are supplemented by Healogics Wound Centers’s marketing program
