Our highly experienced team of dedicated professionals (physicians, nurse practitioners, care coordinators, health navigators, social workers, office staff, and administrators) provides multidisciplinary inpatient and outpatient care for children and youth with multiple complex diagnoses. The patient population includes children and youth from diverse socioeconomic, cultural backgrounds.
The successful applicant will receive an appointment at the Drexel University College of Medicine. He/She will be responsible for clinical care, quality improvement, performance improvement, and resident and medical student teaching. Candidates with demonstrated scholarship and an ongoing commitment to research (e.g. clinical research, health service/outcomes research or performance improvement research) in the field of complex chronic conditions as well as applicants from under – represented minorities are encouraged to apply. The Center for the Urban Child, a community-focused initiative designed to help the children of Philadelphia break the cycles of food insecurity, violence, and childhood illness. The goal of the Center is to provide children with comprehensive medical treatment and services to: 1) reduce barriers to health care access for patients and their families, 2) improve the diagnosis of and care for diseases that disproportionately impact children in the community and 3) modify the factors that contribute to disparities. The Center for the Urban Child will be housed in a newly constructed 30,000-square-foot medical office building located on the hospital’s main campus.
