Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) seeks a BC/BE child abuse pediatrician to oversee further development of a full service child protection program in collaboration with the Lehigh County Child Advocacy Center (CAC). A team of multi-disciplinary professionals currently work together through the CAC to provide clinical and other supportive services to children and families. Responsibilities will include oversight of programmatic growth to include a Child Abuse Emergency Response Team; continuing medical education for staff, social workers, residents and medical students; community outreach and social awareness. Successful candidate will be employed by LVHN and be based out of the hospital’s clinic. He/she will spend 50% of time in the children’s clinic seeing sick and well patients from newborn to adolescent and the rest of the time in child advocacy or full-time or part-time in child advocacy only. The Children’s Hospital at LVHN is the only children’s hospital in the region that provides care in 28 specialties and general pediatrics. There is a 30-bed inpatient unit, 8-bed Level II PICU, 40-bed Level III NICU, a pediatric specialty center, Level II pediatric trauma center and 12-bed pediatric ER.
