St. Anthony Regional Hospital is seeking a board-certified, or board-eligible, specialist in general pediatrics. The ideal candidate will have completed residency in the United States, be a U.S. citizen or current legal resident, and be an M.D. or a D.O. The physician will join an established practice. The practice office is located in a building attached to the hospital. Office hours are 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. weekdays, with a half day off each week. This opportunity is a traditional inpatient/outpatient practice. Other physicians at the practice office include a full-time family medicine specialist, a family medicine nurse practitioner, and a part-time pediatrician. The physician will be a full-time hospital employee and will enjoy a highly competitive salary and benefit package. Relocation incentives are available.

St. Anthony Regional Hospital is sponsored by the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration from LaCrosse, Wisconsin. The 99-bed hospital provides a wide array of services, including inpatient mental health care, intensive care, obstetrics, surgery, laboratory and radiology examinations, including on-site CT, MRI, ultrasound and bone densitrometry. PET CT scanning services are available weekly. The hospital has a dedicated sleep study center, two endoscopy suites, a twelve station hemodialysis service and a specialized infusion center. St. Anthony Regional Hospital’s radiation oncology service utilizes an IMRT linear accelerator, CT treatment planning and provides brachytherapy. St. Anthony Regional Hospital operates a home health service, a hospice and is the county’s public health nursing service provider. Also associated with St. Anthony Regional Hospital are a 79-bed nursing home featuring an 18 bed Alzheimer’s care unit and a senior living facility. St. Anthony recently completed a $25 million surgery center project.

The active medical staff at St. Anthony Regional Hospital is composed of a wide variety of specialists, including family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, cardiology, psychiatry, neurology, general surgery, ophthalmology, otolaryngology, and podiatry. Hospital based providers include five certified registered nurse anesthetists, a pathologist, radiologist and radiation oncologist. In addition, periodic outreach clinics in several specialties are provided by physicians from Des Moines, Iowa and Omaha, Nebraska. The hospital’s emergency department is continuously staffed by dedicated emergency room physicians.

Carroll, Iowa is a community of 10,000 residents located 90 miles west of Des Moines, Iowa and 90 miles east of Omaha, Nebraska. The community is a regional hub for shopping, commerce and healthcare, with 60,000 people residing within a 26-mile radius of Carroll. While the community is located in an agricultural area, the economy of Carroll is supported by many non-agricultural businesses, including a claims processing center for a national real estate warranty insurance company, a nationally known manufacturer of windows, a manufacturer of jet aircraft engine components and a multi-state distributor of institutional foods. The area’s economy is supplemented by a number of smaller local businesses and has a thriving shopping area which includes many nationally known retailers.
