Lehigh Valley Health Network, in eastern Pennsylvania, is opening several new pediatric practices 60 minutes north of Philadelphia and 90 minutes west of NYC. The practices will be located in the Bethlehem/Easton area of Pennsylvania, a strategic growth area for the hospital network. We will consider experienced pediatricians as well as new graduates with a desire to build their own practice. Our pediatricians are responsible for outpatient care, newborn nursery rounds and participating in outpatient call, which is 1:16 weekdays and 1:5 weekends. A nurse triage group answers most of the overnight calls, and patients needing hospitalization are covered by an in-house team of pediatric hospitalists and intensivisits.
This is an exciting time in pediatrics as we further develop the Children’s Hospital. Pediatric outpatient expansion is also at the forefront of the network initiatives in order to meet the needs of a growing younger population. We provide care in 28 specialties and general pediatrics, and have a 30-bed inpatient unit, 40-bed Level III NICU, 8-bed Level II PICU, a pediatric specialty center, 12-bed pediatric ER and 3 full time pediatric surgeons.
