Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN), in eastern Pennsylvania, has several openings for BC/BE pediatricians. Our practices are all located 60 minutes north of Philadelphia and 90 minutes west of NYC. We will consider experienced pediatricians as well as 2016/17 graduates. Our pediatricians are responsible for outpatient care, newborn nursery rounds and participating in outpatient call, which is 1:16 weekdays and 1:5 weekends. A nurse triage group answers most of the overnight calls, and patients needing hospitalization are covered by an in-house team of pediatric hospitalists and intensivists.
This is an exciting time in pediatrics at Lehigh Valley Health Network. Our Children’s Hospital includes a 30-bed inpatient unit, 40-bed Level III NICU, 8-bed Level II PICU and a 12-bed pediatric ER. A brand new pediatric ambulatory surgery center opened in April on the hospital’s main campus. There are 2 pediatric ORs and 1 Peds Endo suite. We are excited and proud of the fact that we now have 3 full time pediatric surgeons to complement our general pediatricians and pediatric subspecialists in 28 subspecialty areas. LVHN also has an 18-slot freestanding, fully accredited pediatric residency program.
LVHN is located in the scenic Pennsylvania area known as The Lehigh Valley. Anchored by the city of Allentown, it is the fastest growing city in the state. Urban redevelopment that includes new businesses, sophisticated metropolitan-style housing, four-star restaurants and entertainment venues are credited with the city’s growth. Within 10 minutes of the downtown are beautiful suburban neighborhoods, city parks, bike trails, ski areas and more.
