Radiologist - (Radiology) Locum Tenens
A community hospital in central Illinois is in need of a solo diagnostic radiologist who can read all modalities including mammography, and perform light interventional procedures. The diagnostic volume is around 90-100 studies per day and the procedure volume is 1-2 procedures per day. The most common procedures are vascular and thyroid biopsies, ultrasound guided breast biopsies, arthograms, paracentesis, thoracentesis, and flouro. There are no weekends and the radiologist will take call in the evening, but only as a backup to teleradiology. The primary modalities are plain film, ultrasound, cat scan, mammography, and MR), there are no neuro. The position starts January 2016 and will be ongoing one week per month January to June, the hours are 8am to 5pm. The PACS system is Meditech and the voice recognition is Powerscribe.

Radiology(locum tenens) is a medical specialty that diagnoses and treats internal diseases (such as tumors) with the use of imaging technologies including X-ray radiography, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound, and nuclear medicine. The role of the radiologist includes developing images and interpreting the data. Interventional radiologists utilize these imaging techniques to perform medical procedures, typically minimally invasive.
