Summerville Medical Center is currently searching for a Pediatric Gastroenterologist to start new IP & OP service line. Our Pediatric Emergency Department experienced a 30% growth in 2015 with over 14,000 Pediatric ED Visits; Pediatric admissions doubled. We have recently opened a 6-bed Pediatric ED and a 6-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. This is a growing community with the largest Pediatric ED market share in the tri-county area.
• 40+ Pediatricians serve as referral base for ED and for inpatient care.
• Locums will be provided for back up
• Pediatric Hospitalist and Intensivist service staffed by board certified pediatric critical care physicians 24/7
• Dedicated Pediatric ED staffed by board certified pediatric emergency medicine physicians
• Employed position with our HCA affiliated practice with competitive compensation and benefits offered

Summerville Medical Center is part of the HCA Trident Health System serving a rapidly growing pediatric patient population in the Charleston, South Carolina market. With two acute care hospitals totaling 407 beds along with two free-standing emergency departments, Trident Health cares for more pediatric patients in our emergency departments than any other health system in the three county area. Pediatric inpatient care for the health system has been consolidated to Summerville Medical Center with the opening of a brand new pediatric inpatient unit and pediatric ICU. The Charleston area and, in particular, Dorchester and Berkeley Counties where Summerville Medical Center is located is experiencing 3-4 times the national growth rate with young families being one of the fastest growing demographic groups. As a result, we are expanding our pediatric services to better serve this high growth market.
