Pathologist - (Pathology) Locum Tenens
StartDate: 12/20/2013Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day

Facility in central eastern Illinois seeks a board-certified Pathologist for holiday coverage from December 23-27, 2013 (excluding the 25th). The schedule is Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm; outpatient work only, no overtime, no call, no hospital work. Physician must be able to read cytology (all, including Gyn & Non-Gyn), skin slides, surgical slides and frozen sections. Performing FNA's, reading flow cytometry and bone marrow, and performing autopsies is preferred but optional. Please call a Staff Care representative today for further details.


A pathologist (locum tenens) studies the cause and effect of disease on plant and animal life. The field is broad, with a lot of room for specialization. Most pathologists practice in the academic or research sectors, working in medical laboratories or universities. Private companies and branches of the government employ pathologists as well. Medical pathologists typically do not treat patients of their own, but do provide integral information for other physicians in the form of lab work and diagnostic testing.
