The Wexner Medical Center (WMC) at The Ohio State University is seeking a physician with expertise in palliative care to join the Center for Palliative Care (CPC). WMC is a large academic medical center that includes the James Cancer Hospital & Solove Research Institute, University Hospital, Ross Heart Hospital and OSU East.
This physician will join the CPC interdisciplinary team in providing comprehensive management of physical, psychosocial, and spiritual distress, throughout the healthcare system.
The CPC interdisciplinary team, which provides both inpatient and outpatient services, includes physicians, advance practice nurses, registered nurses, a pharmacist, a social worker, a chaplain, and a psychologist.
This position is a non-tenure track clinical academic appointment through the Ohio State University College of Medicine. We are seeking an individual interested in working with the CPC team to expand the clinical, teaching, and research activities of our Center. The ideal candidate will be BC/BE in Hospice and Palliative Medicine, an expert in pain and symptom management, and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Among many other awards and honors, the WMC is the recipient of the 2011 UHC Quality Leadership Award. The award is given to academic medical centers that demonstrate excellence in delivering high-quality care as measured by a Quality & Accountability Study.
