General Practitioner - Physician - (General Practice - GP) Locum Tenens
StartDate: 02/09/2015Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day
The Indian Health Center in Oklahoma is in need of a Family Practice Physician for their outpatient clinic.
The position would start as soon as credentialing is complete and continue for a minimum of three months with the option to extend. The Physician will work Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm with no weekends and no call. The average patient load is 18-20 patients per day and the Physician will see all ages. Any State license is accepted for this opportunity.
A general practice physician(locum tenens), like a family care doctor, provides primary and ongoing care for their patients, usually serving as the first point of contact when a medical issue arises. These physicians are trained to deal with both the physical and emotional aspects of medicine, often forging lasting bonds with patients and families over generations. Often times, GPs run specialized practices within their offices, providing their patients with specialized treatments in certain medical areas, such as obstetrics, instead of having to refer the patient to another physician.
Required Qualifications
BLS, ACLS, DEA required prior to start
