General Practitioner - Physician - (General Practice - GP) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Pinal County IGSA is seeking a FP/GP - Family Medicine. The physician will begin as soon as privileged for this ongoing long term Locum Tenen need. The schedule will be Monday - Friday 7:00 to 4:30 no weekends, no call providing direct care to 20-25 patients/detainees per day and Arizona license is required. The Locum Tenen will initiate and maintain compliance with IHSC policies for accreditation. The physician will work within scope of practice and performs functions outlined in the protocols for physicians. The Family Practice or General Practitioner will perform medical histories on detainees entering the Service Processing Center (SPC) and complete necessary paperwork on them. The Locum Tenen will perform physical examinations on detainees, which may include such procedures as pap smears, pelvic exams. They will evaluate and provide care to detainees with medical appointments, on sick call, or walk-ins.
A general practice physician(locum tenens), like a family care doctor, provides primary and ongoing care for their patients, usually serving as the first point of contact when a medical issue arises. These physicians are trained to deal with both the physical and emotional aspects of medicine, often forging lasting bonds with patients and families over generations. Often times, GPs run specialized practices within their offices, providing their patients with specialized treatments in certain medical areas, such as obstetrics, instead of having to refer the patient to another physician.
