Locum Tenen Orthopedic Surgeon
1. LOCATION: Albany VA Medical Center, 113 Holland Avenue, Albany, NY 12208
2. POSITION AVAILABLE: 1 full-time, Locum Tenen Board Certified/Board Eligible Orthopedic Surgeon
3. ESTIMATED HOURS: 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday; rotational on-call (weeknights and weekends); occasional overtime may be required
4. DUTIES:
• Provide General Orthopedic clinical and surgical services to both inpatients and outpatients of the Albany VA Medical Center.
• Supervise and train residents assigned to VA Medical Center on a rotational basis by the Department of Orthopedic Surgery, Albany Medical Center according to the standards of the Residency Review Committee and appropriate VA Residency Supervision guidelines. Contractor shall supervise residents in only those clinical activities for which the Contractor has been privileged and shall determine the frequency of supervision and degree of involvement required.
• It is anticipated that the provider will be performing surgical procedures in the operating room approximately 2 full days per week. Additional surgery may be required based on patient load (e.g. patients who present to the ER).
• Provide General Orthopedic care to clinic patients in a clinic setting approximately 3 full days per week/10- 12 patients per clinic day.
• Rotational on-call (weeknights and weekends) approximately 15 days per month
5. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Provider must be a Board Certified/Board Eligible Orthopedic Surgeon and have knowledge of all current general Orthopedic Surgery care, treatments and surgical abilities.
