Job Description: Enloe Medical Center is a 391-bed, level II trauma center located in the vibrant Northern Californian city of Chico. It offers the North Valley a full continuum of health services ranging from preventative education and outpatient services to acute care, behavioral health, inpatient rehabilitation and home health and hospice services. Serving more than 400,000 residents in a six-county region in Northern California, we provide quality, compassionate, cost-effective care to our patients. Enloe Medical Center encompasses seven separate facilities, and is the only hospital in our attractive city of 100,000. It is currently undergoing a $158 million expansion.

We are recruiting for a hospital-based clinic comprised of two established Oncologists, where we’ll cover all of the expenses associated with your practice. You’ll find this to be a very physician-centric environment. Weekend call will be 1:3 at a minimum, likely 1:4. We have a very strong Hospitalist group, whom does your admissions. Weekend call will involve rounding on 2 to 4 patients as well as doing a consultation or two. On the weekdays call is very light. You’ll see roughly 15 to 20 patients in your clinic with 4 to 5 patients in infusion. There are 8 to 10 consults a week. Our cancer center is very nice, which where your office is housed. There is onsite Radiation Oncology, a full service infusion suite, online PACS, digital mammography, breast MRI (including biopsy), Cancer Connections, 2 linear accelerators, HDR capabilities (including MammoSite), and Lymphedema Therapy. There is a local dedicated female Breast Surgeon, as well as outstanding Interventional Radiologists. We’re in the process of acquiring stereotactic radiosurgery capabilities. We don’t treat acute leukemia, but have strong relationships with UC-Davis, UCSF, and Stanford.

At the same time, the influence of California State University at Chico ensures a sophisticated and varied choice of cultural and entertainment activities. Chico has excellent restaurants and abundant opportunities for outdoor activities. Very few locations can provide palm trees AND pine trees. Our accommodating Mediterranean climate offers almost 300 days of sunshine a year. While we’ll give you all 4 seasons, our average daily high in the dead of winter is 54˚F. At the same time, abundant snow is just thirty minutes up the mountains. We’re home to one of the largest municipal parks in the nation at over 3,600 acres. It has miles of engaging trails to hike, bike, or ride horses. Amongst many other awards, we’ve been recognized as:

Chico's downtown is a thriving area for unique, independent retail shops and restaurants. Farmer's markets attract crowds on Saturday mornings and Thursday evenings. The City Plaza hosts free concerts regularly during the summer. Performance venues large and small, bars, coffee shops, book stores and city offices contribute to a lively and flavorful experience. There is easy access to many end-destination locales including; Lake Tahoe, Mt. Shasta, Sacramento, Napa Valley, San Francisco, Reno, the California coast, and Mendocino.
