The Outer Banks Hospital Medical Group, in partnership with Vidant Medical Group, is seeking a BC Hematology Oncology fellowship-trained Physician to join our Cancer team in Nags Head, North Carolina. The Outer Banks Medical Group is an established multi-specialty group that has a passion for quality of care. Experience is required. Not accepting Fellows.

Nags Head, a beautiful coastal location nestled in the heart of the Outer Banks, offers excellent schools, access to world-class fishing, water sports, outdoor activities, fine dining, and a relaxed quality of life. With a permanent population of 65,000, in Dare County and surrounding areas, Nags Head area offers small town living with the luxuries of a resort community.

Highlights include:

• Ability to live in one of the top rated coastal locations in the United States
• Established community cancer program, fully accredited with Commendation by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer with approximately 150 analytic cases annually; Engaging and cohesive team of oncology providers and staff
• Established hematology/oncology practice with strong existing referral base and 8 bay infusion suite, staffed by all chemo-certified RN staff
• Radiation Therapy, General Surgery, Radiology, Pathology
• Palliative Care Services provided through a multidisciplinary Symptom Management Clinic
• Navigation Services including Oncology Nurse Navigators with established referral relationships at regional academic/tertiary sites for specialty care and an Oncology Social Worker working collaboratively with community partners to support psychosocial needs
• Onsite dietician & outpatient rehabilitation services with physical therapy, occupational therapy, lymphedema services and speech therapy
• Integrative Medicine provider for consultation and referral
• Multidisciplinary cancer committee structure with monthly tumor boards
• Over 30 referring providers to the Cancer service line
• Employed (non-academic) position; 100% outpatient with no after-hours/weekend call
• Hospital privileges at The Outer Banks Hospital
• Support by the Leo W. Jenkins Cancer Center multidisciplinary team in Greenville, NC

The Outer Banks Hospital is a full service critical access hospital offering a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services. The hospital opened in March 2002 and is one of the newest hospitals in eastern North Carolina. The hospital is designed to meet the needs of our coastal community, the Outer Banks of North Carolina, which includes the counties of Dare, Hyde and Currituck which when combined is home to a year round residential population of roughly 66,000. The population of Dare County alone (35,000) swells to about 350,000 in the summer season.

The hospital Medical Staff currently has approximately 300 privileged, Board Certified providers which includes Tele-neurology and Tele-psychiatry as well as five full time inpatient Hospitalists (both Medicine and Pediatrics). Surgical specialties include: General Surgery, Orthopedics, Ear, Nose & Throat, OB/GYN, Ophthalmology, Oral Surgery and Plastics. The Emergency Department houses 17 treatment beds.

OBH, which is fully accredited by the Joint Commission (JACHO), provides high quality care in a compassionate environment to all patients, regardless of their ability to pay, and has been nationally recognized for its outstanding patient care.
