Job Description

Last Update: 4/18/17
Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) is now a member of the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) Alliance. This alliance creates a unique opportunity to share knowledge and bring state of the art clinical trials and cancer care to our patients in the Lehigh Valley. We are proud of the fact that MSKCC chose LVHN because of the proven expertise of our physicians and cancer program. In anticipation of this growth, we are interested in enhancing services in hematologic malignancies, in partnership with MSKCC. We are currently seeking a physician that is BC/BE in both hematology and oncology, with special interest in malignant hematology.

LVHN has a well-established, employed group practice composed of 16 physicians and 9 advanced practice clinicians. We support an independent hematology-oncology fellowship program and have an academic affiliation with the University of South Florida where our physicians are eligible for faculty appointment. We offer the camaraderie of a close knit team and a favorable weekend call schedule.

LVHN has the fourth largest Cancer Center in Pennsylvania and sees more than 3,400 new cancer patients each year. It is the only regional cancer center listed in the recent US News and World Report ranking of top hospitals. In 2010, the Cancer Center was named a National Cancer Institute Community Cancer Centers Program (NCCCP) and is accredited by the American College of Surgeons as a Network Cancer Program.

As part of LVHN’s employed physician group, we offer attractive salaries, outstanding benefits, great staff and the support of a financially stable health network.

The Lehigh Valley area is anchored by the city of Allentown, the fastest growing city in PA. Urban redevelopment that includes new businesses, urban-style housing, four-star restaurants and entertainment venues are credited with the city’s growth. Within 10 minutes of the downtown are beautiful suburban neighborhoods, city parks, walking/biking trails, ski areas and more. Educational opportunities in the area include excellent public schools, highly regarded private schools and 10 colleges and universities. More than 820,000 people live, work, learn and play in the Lehigh Valley. We also enjoy easy access to NYC-just 90 minutes to the east and Philadelphia-just 60 minutes to the south.
