Radiation Oncologist - Physician - (Oncology - Rad Onc) Locum Tenens
StartDate: 09/15/2014Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day

This Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Boston seeks a radiation oncologist to fill in on a locum tenens basis while regular staff recruitment efforts are in progess. Working hours are from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The assignment will begin immediately upon the completion of credentialing and last for six months, or until a permanent hire can be identified.

A radiation oncologist(locum tenens) is a physician who utilizes radiation therapy procedures to manage and treat tumors and cancers. These physicians are trained to understand how gamma and x-rays can be used to target and affect a variety of cancers, utilizing radiation therapy combined with chemotherapy and stereostatic radiosurgery to treat their patients. Offering comfort and stability is also paramount in radiation oncology, as these health care professionals often form lasting and emotional relationships with their patients.

Required Qualifications
The physician shall be board certified and have an active DEA, BLS, and ACLS prior to the start date.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with the veteran population is considered a plus.
