Job Description & Requirements
Radiation Oncologist - Physician - (Oncology - Rad Onc) Locum Tenens
AVG caseload: 25 Vets per day.
Board Certified(mandatory) to work at the newly upgraded state of art radiation therapy facility located at Universtiy Drive C.
Hours between 6am- 6pm(40/week) No Call.
Proficiency with intensity modulated radiation therapy(IMRT) and image guieded radiation therapy(IGRT) is highly preferred.
Evaluation, management and consultative services.
Radiotherapy Treatments and Planning, Follow Up, Overseeing Dosimetric Calulation, Chart Rounds Review, Isodose Planning services, Laryngoscopic Services.
ACLS preferred but not required.
Equipment includes Varian Trilogy w/OBI, Tomotherapy, CMS w/Focal, Mosaiq, PET/CT Sim, MapCheck & Matrix.
Required Treatments include IMRT, IGRT, SBRT, SRS & 3D Confromal
A radiation oncologist(locum tenens) is a physician who utilizes radiation therapy procedures to manage and treat tumors and cancers. These physicians are trained to understand how gamma and x-rays can be used to target and affect a variety of cancers, utilizing radiation therapy combined with chemotherapy and stereostatic radiosurgery to treat their patients. Offering comfort and stability is also paramount in radiation oncology, as these health care professionals often form lasting and emotional relationships with their patients.
