Oncologist - Physician - (Oncology - ONC) Locum Tenens
An oncology clinic just east of Dallas, Texas is looking for an oncologist to fill in in a locums tenens capacity covering two shifts per week starting in June and running through the last week of July. This outpatient clinic has opportunities for coverage on Tuesdays and Thursday from 8:30 am until 5 pm. An oncologist(locum tenens) is a physician who has specialized in the study and treatment of cancer. Medical oncologists perform many diagnostic tests when assessing new patients, such as biopsies and blood work. After determining the stage of the cancer and a prognosis, they begin treating their patients, making use of a range of medical procedures including chemotherapy and other medications. Monitoring the patient is an important aspect of medical oncology, and oncologists frequently perform diagnostic tests throughout treatment to examine the efficacy of the medication or medical procedures.
