Oncologist - Physician - (Oncology - ONC) Locum Tenens
StartDate: 06/01/2015Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day

A Minnesota-based health system is currently seeking a Medical Oncologist to assist with locum tenens coverage. Locums physician will see patients in 2 locations - primarily outpatient with occasional consults. Candidates should be experienced with typical Hematology/Oncology cases. An oncologist(locum tenens) is a physician who has specialized in the study and treatment of cancer. Medical oncologists perform many diagnostic tests when assessing new patients, such as biopsies and blood work. After determining the stage of the cancer and a prognosis, they begin treating their patients, making use of a range of medical procedures including chemotherapy and other medications. Monitoring the patient is an important aspect of medical oncology, and oncologists frequently perform diagnostic tests throughout treatment to examine the efficacy of the medication or medical procedures.
