Rapides Regional Medical Center is assisting with the search for an OB/GYN to join another in a high volume, private practice with a huge Medicaid population. The new physician will be replacing someone who had to leave unexpectedly for medical reasons. This is a "walk in and hit the ground running" opportunity, as the practice is very busy and the remaining physician in the practice is overwhelmed. Call is shared equally, 1:2. The hospital is assisting with the search and will be providing a competitive Income Guarantee financial package in line with Stark regulations, and a shared overhead arrangement with the practice. Qualified applicants should be Board Certified (or Board Eligible if recently trained) and have a Louisiana license.
The economic forecast of the hospital is great with a new 50 million dollar expansion which we recently completed. Louisiana is a Tort Reform State (capped malpractice claims), which make this a very physician friendly practice opportunity. Benefits of the opportunity include no capitated insurance contracts, little managed care intrusion, large medical society, safe neighborhoods with housing styles ranging from eighteenth century to modern construction. A strong primary care referral base and medical staff combine to give the new physician an opportunity to build a very successful practice - very quickly.
