Practice in only one hospital.
No other neurologists located within this service area.
The perfect candidate will support the community as a solo practitioner and support the ER staff and physicians in a consulting role.
Will not be responsible for extensive hospital call and will be a resource for physicians covering inpatient census.
Strong referral system with a defined need at this community hospital. Primary draw area of 35,000 and a secondary draw area of 92,000.
The selected physician will be able to perform a variety of neurological procedures including EEGs and EMGs.
Recruitment incentive package may include income support, practice start up assistance, sign- on bonus, student loan repayment, stipend for last year residents, relocation allowance and marketing.
Board certification required through the AOA or the American Board of Medical Specialties (unless residency has just been completed). MD or DO accepted.
The Hospital
A 100-bed acute care community hospital that is fully accredited by Joint Commission.
The hospital has a 6- bed ICU, 3 large operating rooms and 1 minor procedure room, in-house MRI and 16 slice CT, MD & CRNA anesthesia. The hospital offers 24-hour Emergency Care, Surgery, Extended Care Services, Intensive Care, Women's Services, Radiology Services, Rehabilitation Services, Hospice, Home Health, Cardiology, Respiratory, Cancer Services, Pastoral Care, Hospitalist Program and Community/Occupational Education.
The Community
As the county seat of Wythe County, this community abounds in restaurants, shopping and entertainment. Several major cities, including Roanoke, Virginia, Bristol-Kingsport, Tennessee and Winston-Salem, North Carolina are within a two-hour drive or less and offer plenty of opportunities for sports, concerts, fine dining and cultural events.
