Neonatologist - Physician - (Neonatology) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 12 Hour/Day

Board Eligible or Board Certified Neonatologist needed for a job assignment in New York starting at the end of December - ongoing. Varied shifts are available, ranging from 8A-6P, 12, 16, or 24 hour call blocks. The provider must be well-versed in a Neonatology setting.

Specializing in the care of newborn infants, a neonatologist(locum tenens) is often tasked with providing diagnoses and treatments to infants with birth defects and life-threatening illnesses. In order to become licensed as a neonatologist, a physician must first complete a residency in general pediatrics, followed by a fellowship in neonatology. These physicians provide a wide range of treatments for their patients, and often work with them for long periods of time, as in the case of premature birth.

Required Qualifications
NY Licensed - Neonatologist needed starting December - ongoing. Schedule: Varied shifts are available, ranging from 8A-6P, 12, 16, or 24 hour call blocks. Weekend call is an additional option with a 1:3 ratio. The Neonatologist will be required to perform physical examinations of term and pre-term infants. They will also respond to all delivery and operating room calls for high-risk pregnancies which may require neonatal resuscitation. Typical procedures performed are umbilical vessel catheterization, double volume exchange transfusions, endotracheal intubations, IV placement, arterial and venous punctures, and lumber punctures.
