Neonatologist - Physician - (Neonatology) Locum Tenens
StartDate: 04/28/2014Available Shifts: 24 Hour On-Call

Accepting a Neonatologist to work 7-15 days a month in a Level 2 NICU an hour outside of Charlotte, North Carolina. Client is flexible on schedule if you can work in blocks. 24 hour call with admissions and rounding in the morning, usually finished by 1pm. Go in for call 1 to 2 times per week on average. We have a large3 support staff here. Facility sees an annual volume of 1,000 deliveries a year and seeing 32 weeks and above. Occasional phone consults required. Up to date facility with the latest technology and procedures. There will be no ECMO, no high frequency, and no cooling. Would like to see someone comfortable with IV lines and PICC lines. We are also interested in candidates who seek a long term opportunity with Medical Director experience. Full orientation and EMR training will be given to you directly by the Medical Director.

Specializing in the care of newborn infants, a neonatologist(locum tenens) is often tasked with providing diagnoses and treatments to infants with birth defects and life-threatening illnesses. In order to become licensed as a neonatologist, a physician must first complete a residency in general pediatrics, followed by a fellowship in neonatology. These physicians provide a wide range of treatments for their patients, and often work with them for long periods of time, as in the case of premature birth.
