Neonatologist - Physician - (Neonatology) Locum Tenens
StartDate: 06/03/2013Available Shifts: 12 Hour/Day

This assignment, located in a wonderful Indiana community, needs Neonatologists who can work 12 hour shifts, days only, with no call. This physician will typically see 15 to 20 patients a day, and will be responsible for Ventillation Management, Intubation, Lines, and other Level 3 NICU care. This position does not involve ECMO, and only includes minor cardiac care, with surgeries being referred out to another facility.

Specializing in the care of newborn infants, a neonatologist(locum tenens) is often tasked with providing diagnoses and treatments to infants with birth defects and life-threatening illnesses. In order to become licensed as a neonatologist, a physician must first complete a residency in general pediatrics, followed by a fellowship in neonatology. These physicians provide a wide range of treatments for their patients, and often work with them for long periods of time, as in the case of premature birth.
