Neonatologist - Physician - (Neonatology) Locum Tenens
Staff Care has a new locum tenen opportunity for a neonatologist to work a locum opportunity in Virginal. This opportunity is for a BC/BE neonatologist to provide high-quality care at a Children's Hospital. This site has 3,100 deliveries annually, 60 beds, Level-IIIB NICU, with 730 admissions annually and an average daily census of 42 babies. This assignment will include high-frequency ventilation and nitric oxide. The hospital offers a full range of pediatric medical and surgical subspecialties including two maternal-fetal medicine specialists. Please call Staff Care for more details.
Specializing in the care of newborn infants, a neonatologist(locum tenens) is often tasked with providing diagnoses and treatments to infants with birth defects and life-threatening illnesses. In order to become licensed as a neonatologist, a physician must first complete a residency in general pediatrics, followed by a fellowship in neonatology. These physicians provide a wide range of treatments for their patients, and often work with them for long periods of time, as in the case of premature birth.
