Neonatologist - Physician - (Neonatology) Locum Tenens
Staff Care has a new locum tenen opportunity for a neonatologist to work a locum opportunity in New York. This opportunity is for a BC/BE neonatologist for a Level-III NICU hospital that averages 1,500 births per year; the NICU has an average daily census of about 15 neonates. Approximately 15 to 20 percent of the unit's 300 annual admissions are transports from our referral hospitals that serve the population of the surrounding counties. Services include conventional ventilation and HFOV. Provider will be working with a full staff of nursing, nurse practitioners, perinatal's and a wide range of pediatric subspecialty support. Specializing in the care of newborn infants, a neonatologist(locum tenens) is often tasked with providing diagnoses and treatments to infants with birth defects and life-threatening illnesses. In order to become licensed as a neonatologist, a physician must first complete a residency in general pediatrics, followed by a fellowship in neonatology. These physicians provide a wide range of treatments for their patients, and often work with them for long periods of time, as in the case of premature birth.
