Neonatologist - Physician - (Neonatology) Locum Tenens
Staff Care has a new locum tenen opportunity for a neonatologist to work a locum opportunity in Michigan. This assignment is at a 44-bed Level-III NICU, with an average daily census of approximately 30 patients, locum responsibilities will include attending high-risk deliveries, assessing critically ill neonates and administering comprehensive patient care. There are residency programs rotating through this facility including OB, pediatrics and family medicine. Specializing in the care of newborn infants, a neonatologist(locum tenens) is often tasked with providing diagnoses and treatments to infants with birth defects and life-threatening illnesses. In order to become licensed as a neonatologist, a physician must first complete a residency in general pediatrics, followed by a fellowship in neonatology. These physicians provide a wide range of treatments for their patients, and often work with them for long periods of time, as in the case of premature birth.
