Locums Neonatologist Needed in Michigan
- Start ASAP - ongoing
- Shifts are 24/7 on up to 7 days, 2nd call/backup
- Work with NNP on 1st call, NNP does 1st call with the Neo for 3-7 day
- In-house attendance not mandatory
- Daily rounding for stable infants
- Average daily census is 12-14
- Gestational age 25 weeks and above
- Scope of care includes NCPAP, Conventional ventilation, Oscillator, iNO
- No Pediatric surgical subspecialties on site, those infants are transferred
- Attend delivers as requested by OB, usually very pre-term, multiple gestation, often attended by NICU RN and NPP
- 2-5 calls per week for transfers in from outlying facilities, unit supported transport team
- Ability to perform spinal tap, chest tube placement, intubation, umbilical lines
- Occasional but rare ED consult
- Calls from outlying physicians for infants up to 1 month of age for consultation
- Precept Family Practice residents and 3rd & 4th year DO students
- Level 3B NICU
- High frequency ventilation and inhaled nitric oxide
- ACLS/ATLS required
- CPOE but hand written progress notes
- Dictated H&P
- Weekly multidisciplinary rounds wiht RT, PT, pharmacy, care management, nursing
