BE/BC Maternal Fetal Medicine physician needed to join a community based MFM practice in Little Rock, Arkansas. The office is located on the campus of the hospital, which is a 787-bed facility. There is a Level III NICU located on the same floor as the Labor and Delivery unit. The NICU is staffed by 4 neonatologists, one of whom is also a pediatric cardiologist. There is also a maternal transport team, which can bring patients to the hospital by helicopter or ground transport. The existing office practice is primarily consultative with approximately 42 patients seen per week in the office. Services offered include high-resolution ultrasounds (Acuson Sequoia), amniocentesis, CVS, and intra-uterine fetal transfusions. Arkansas is not a malpractice insurance crisis state. An average premium is less than $40,000 per year. Arkansas has passed an “any willing provider law” which should ensure easy admittance to the insurer’s panel of physicians. As long as an adequate patient population is maintained, the potential income for this position would likely be $350,000-$400,000.
