Internist - Physician - (Internal Medicine) Locum Tenens
StartDate: 02/02/2015Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day

Board Eligible / Board Certified - Internal Medicine or Family Practice physician needed in a Vermont Correctional Facility for a full time opportunity for the month of February with the possibility of extension. This opportunity offers a Mon-Fri schedule, 40 hour work week. The provider must be well-versed in a Primary Care Outpatient Setting. Correctional experience preferred, but not required.

Internal medicine (locum tenens) is a branch of medicine characterized by an emphasis on treating the whole body, rather than specialized focus on one body part of system. Many people use internists as their first point of medical contact, and in this way these physicians function similarly to primary care doctors. Internists are trained to treat and diagnose a wide range of illnesses that affect the entirety of the biological system. When an illness proves to be advancing, exotic or complex, internists will usually refer their patients to specialists.

Required Qualifications
Internal Medicine or Family Practice physician needed 02/02 - 02/27 (with the possibility of extension) Mon-Fri: 8a-5p, no call. The provider will be working with Male and occasional Female patients. Client prefers candidates with correctional experience, but it is not required. BE/BC, BLS, & DEA. 100% Scheduled, 100% Adult patients. Typical Cases: Sick visits, chronic care, diabetes, and hypertension. Support Staff: RN's, NP's, and Administrator.
