Internist - Physician - (Internal Medicine) Locum Tenens
StartDate: 04/06/2015Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day

Board Certified or Board Eligible Internal Medicine or Family Practice physician to provide coverage as soon as credentialed for 6 months with the option to extend 6 months. Ambulatory Care/Primary Care setting. Work hours are Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm. No Call. Perform History, Physicals and evaluations for treatment. Order tests, x-rays, and monitor and prescribe medications. Identify and report the patient's physical, psychosocial and emotional status. Must have DEA and Basic Life Support Certification. Must have computer skills site uses computerized medical records system.

Internal medicine (locum tenens) is a branch of medicine characterized by an emphasis on treating the whole body, rather than specialized focus on one body part of system. Many people use internists as their first point of medical contact, and in this way these physicians function similarly to primary care doctors. Internists are trained to treat and diagnose a wide range of illnesses that affect the entirety of the biological system. When an illness proves to be advancing, exotic or complex, internists will usually refer their patients to specialists.
