Internist - Physician - (Internal Medicine) Locum Tenens
StartDate: 11/17/2014Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day
This medical center seeks a locum tenens primary care physician to fill in while regular staff recruitment efforts are in progress. The patient load will consist of outpatients only, and working hours will be from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The physician shall start immediately upon the completion of credentialing, and they assignment will last for six months, or until a permanent hire can be identified.
Internal medicine (locum tenens) is a branch of medicine characterized by an emphasis on treating the whole body, rather than specialized focus on one body part of system. Many people use internists as their first point of medical contact, and in this way these physicians function similarly to primary care doctors. Internists are trained to treat and diagnose a wide range of illnesses that affect the entirety of the biological system. When an illness proves to be advancing, exotic or complex, internists will usually refer their patients to specialists.
Required Qualifications
The physician shall have an active BLS prior to the start date.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with the geriatric population is considered a plus.
