Internist - Physician - (Internal Medicine) Locum Tenens
StartDate: 11/03/2014Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day

Board Certified or Board Eligible Family Practice or Internal Medicine Physician to provide coverage as soon as credentialed for 6 months with the option to extend 6 additional months. *Any State License. Work hours are Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm. No call. Provide outpatient clinic coverage. Provide histories, physical exams, diagnosis, treatment and prescribe medications. See approximately 11-13 patients per day. Must have DEA and BCLS.

Internal medicine (locum tenens) is a branch of medicine characterized by an emphasis on treating the whole body, rather than specialized focus on one body part of system. Many people use internists as their first point of medical contact, and in this way these physicians function similarly to primary care doctors. Internists are trained to treat and diagnose a wide range of illnesses that affect the entirety of the biological system. When an illness proves to be advancing, exotic or complex, internists will usually refer their patients to specialists.
