Internist - Physician - (Internal Medicine) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day
The Air Force is looking for a FP/IM to provide solo practice services at Wake Island. Provider will need to be board certified and residency trained. Will need to be comfortable in a urgent care setting. The provider will need to have a BLS, and either ACLS or ATLS along with a DEA. The patient load will be very low, less than 4 patients per day, and will be seeing all incoming patients. The provider will work work from 9am-2pm, and then be on call the rest of the day and on weekends.
Internal medicine (locum tenens) is a branch of medicine characterized by an emphasis on treating the whole body, rather than specialized focus on one body part of system. Many people use internists as their first point of medical contact, and in this way these physicians function similarly to primary care doctors. Internists are trained to treat and diagnose a wide range of illnesses that affect the entirety of the biological system. When an illness proves to be advancing, exotic or complex, internists will usually refer their patients to specialists.
