Internist - Physician - (Internal Medicine) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day
Board Eligible / Board Certified - Internal Medicine or Family Practice physician needed for a part-time opportunity from May 2014 ongoing. Client would consider paying for travel and lodging for the right candidate. This opportunity offers any 3 days per week, No call. The provider must be well-versed in a Primary Care Outpatient setting and comfortable with seeing Suboxone patients.
Internal medicine (locum tenens) is a branch of medicine characterized by an emphasis on treating the whole body, rather than specialized focus on one body part of system. Many people use internists as their first point of medical contact, and in this way these physicians function similarly to primary care doctors. Internists are trained to treat and diagnose a wide range of illnesses that affect the entirety of the biological system. When an illness proves to be advancing, exotic or complex, internists will usually refer their patients to specialists.
Required Qualifications
PA licensed IM or FP needed for drug treatment clinic. Suboxone certification required. 7a-12p (Client Flexible) for 3 days/week. 2-4 patients per hour. Support staff includes 2 full-time LPNs, 5 counselors and 1 clinic supervisor.
