Internist - Physician - (Internal Medicine) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day
Nationwide company is opening a new clinic in and needs Internal Medicine coverage while they recruit their permanent providers. Client needs one physician for the site who will be the solo practitioner. Locum will treat all adult patients; many geriatric and acute care patients. It is important for the provider to be good with and willing to work with elderly patients. Client prefers local candidates but is open to looking at candidates who require travel and lodging.
Internal medicine (locum tenens) is a branch of medicine characterized by an emphasis on treating the whole body, rather than specialized focus on one body part of system. Many people use internists as their first point of medical contact, and in this way these physicians function similarly to primary care doctors. Internists are trained to treat and diagnose a wide range of illnesses that affect the entirety of the biological system. When an illness proves to be advancing, exotic or complex, internists will usually refer their patients to specialists.
