PHYSICIAN ADMINISTRATOR 2

Job Duties: The Ohio Department of rehabilitation and Correction is looking for a dedicated Medical Professional to assume the responsibilities of Physician Administrator 2

The selected candidate will operate as the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) with a general Monday - Friday schedule with on-call duties as required. As the CMO, you will perform routine and emergency medical care of inmates/patients referred for Chronic Care Clinic at the facility. Examine, diagnose, treat, monitor inoculate or vaccinate against communicable diseases; prescribe medications; prescribe or administer treatment for acute and chronically ill patients; performs minor surgery. Approve or disapprove recommendations for specialty consults; Completed medical reclassification; Writes medical evaluations, admission and discharge reports and summary; documents assessments; review results of laboratory, x-ray and diagnostic testing. Document all assessments/findings according to scope of practice. Conduct peer review and monitoring on providers within the institution. Attend professional meetings. Requires bi annual renewal with 100 hours of continuin9 education.
Minimum Qualifications: Certified to practice medicine in state of Ohio
Supplemental Information:
Salary based on correctional experience, board certification, and institution.

• DEA fee eligible for waiver through the DEA Agency if you prescribe controlled substances to only government entities. Waiver not guaranteed
• Ten paid holidays

The final applicant selected for this position will be required to submit to urinalysis prior to an appointment to test for illegal drug use. The State will decline to extend a final offer of employment to any applicant with a verified positive test result.
