Internist - Physician - (Internal Medicine) Locum Tenens
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day
Geriatric facility in central Massachusetts is looking for an Internal Medicine or Family Practice Physician with extensive geriatric experience to work a minimum of 30 hours per week while they recruit for a permanent provider. Locum will be required to work in clinic and visit patients in their home and/or nursing home, all within a 20 mile radius.
Internal medicine (locum tenens) is a branch of medicine characterized by an emphasis on treating the whole body, rather than specialized focus on one body part of system. Many people use internists as their first point of medical contact, and in this way these physicians function similarly to primary care doctors. Internists are trained to treat and diagnose a wide range of illnesses that affect the entirety of the biological system. When an illness proves to be advancing, exotic or complex, internists will usually refer their patients to specialists.
