StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8 Hour/Day

A primary care physician is needed to provide services at this outpatient clinic on a locum tenens basis. The facility needs the physician to start immediately upon the completion of credentialing and privileging, and the assignment will last for six months or longer. Working hours are from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday and do not include any overtime or on call responsibilities.

Internal medicine (locum tenens) is a branch of medicine characterized by an emphasis on treating the whole body, rather than specialized focus on one body part of system. Many people use internists as their first point of medical contact, and in this way these physicians function similarly to primary care doctors. Internists are trained to treat and diagnose a wide range of illnesses that affect the entirety of the biological system. When an illness proves to be advancing, exotic or complex, internists will usually refer their patients to specialists.

Required Qualifications
The physician shall be Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Practice. Alternately, the facility may consider candidates who are Board Eligible and who have completed a residency in Internal Medicine or Family Practice within the previous four years. An active Basic and Advanced Life Support certification will be required prior to the start date.
