Last Update: 11/05/15
Enloe Medical Center is a 296-bed, level II trauma center located in the vibrant Northern Californian city of Chico. It offers the North Sacramento Valley the full continuum of health services. Serving more than 400,000 residents in a six-county region, we provide quality, compassionate, cost-effective care to our patients. Enloe Medical Center encompasses seven separate facilities, and is the only hospital in a beautiful city of just over 100,000 people. Enloe recently completed a $178 million expansion, including an additional 191,000 square feet, a new 12-bed medical ICU, a new 12-bed Surgical ICU, new GI facilities, 13 fully-integrated operating suites, and a new Mother & Baby Care Center. Additionally, we just began a 28,000 square foot construction/renovation project of our Emergency Department.

Enloe operates two prompt care centers in Chico; both with on-site x-ray. We are looking to add a full-time provider who would also serve as Medical Director of the department. Shifts are 12 hours in length. Compensation is $130 per hour. The directorship position entails 20 hours of administrative responsibilities per month, and entails additional compensation. The centers are fully staffed. Medical liability insurance and relocation expenses are covered.

Chico is an extremely easy place to live. It has a pleasant, small town atmosphere with no long commutes. At the same time, the influence of California State University at Chico ensures a sophisticated and varied choice of cultural and entertainment activities. Chico has excellent restaurants and abundant opportunities for outdoor activities. Very few locations can provide palm trees AND pine trees. Our accommodating Mediterranean climate offers almost 300 days of sunshine a year. While we’ll give you all 4 seasons, our average daily high in the dead of winter is 54°F. We’re home to one of the largest municipal parks in the nation. Bidwell Park has miles of engaging trails to hike, bike, or ride horses. Amongst many other awards, we’ve been recognized as:

- One of “America’s Best Cities, 2011” by Outside Magazine
- Among Men’s Journal’s “Best Places to Live in America, 2010”
- “America’s #1 Place to Live” by Forbes magazine
- “America’s #5 Place to Live” by Money magazine
- “Top Place to Live the Western Dream” (American Cowboy magazine, 2010)
- Best Colleges – CSU, Chico (US News & World Report, 2007)
- Ranked #17 in Farmers Insurance list of "Most Secure Cities"
- Judged the 16th “Most Healthy City in America” by Organic Style magazine
- Named "America's #1 Cycling Town" by Bicycle magazine
- “Best Places to Retire” (US News & World Report, 2008; CNN [Register to View] 2005 & 2006; Kiplinger’s' Personal Finance magazine, 1998)

Chico's downtown is a thriving area for unique, independent retail shops and restaurants. Farmer's markets attract crowds on Saturday mornings and Thursday evenings. The City Plaza hosts free concerts regularly during the summer. Performance venues large and small, bars, coffee shops, book stores and city offices contribute to a lively and flavorful experience. There is easy access to many end-destination locales including; Lake Tahoe, Mt. Shasta, Sacramento, Napa Valley, San Francisco, Reno, and the California coast

Please let me know if I can provide any additional information. I’m confident the more you learn about the Chico, the more you’ll understand why we love living here.
