ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
• Employed position with production based income. WRVU based with minimums
• Traditional setting including outpatient and inpatient care or Outpatient Clinic
• Clinic located on hospital campus
• 13 member active medical staff members; average age 47.
• The need in this community is for General Internal Medicine.
• Traditional setting including outpatient and inpatient care or Outpatient Clinic
• BC preferred
• Strong desire to have active hospital and office practice.
• Call coverage by Hospitalist Program
• Benefits are per Hospital policy, includes retirement savings plan with employer contribution, Paid time off accrual of 20 days per year, CME allowance and 5 days of CME time off. Liability insurance coverage, Health insurance. Relocation assistance. Practice and Hospital qualify for NHSC loan repayment (score 16)
ABOUT THE FACILITY
• Ashe Memorial Hospital was established in 1941and is a not-for-profit hospital located in the Blue Ridge Mountains, in the western part of North Carolina. Ashe Memorial is a rural hospital that has a remarkably sophisticated level of care for a county population of 25,499. In 2008 Ashe Memorial became a Critical Access Hospital.
• Ashe Memorial is a full-service hospital that offers Laparoscopic, General Surgery, Complete Eye Care including Cataract Treatment, Diagnostic Imaging,, Cardiopulmonary Therapy and Testing, Nutritional Counseling, Lifeline Emergency Response Program, Endoscopy, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Ultrasound, Physical Therapy, Obstetrics, Mountain Hearts Center for Prevention and Wellness, Digital Mammography, a 24-hour Emergency Room, an after-hours medical clinic and much more.
• The hospital has completed renovations of the following areas: Monitored Bed Unit, which includes the latest technology, nursing station on the second floor of the hospital and the Wilma Vannoy Birthing Center.
• The hospital also has a commitment to the wellness of the community, which we have addressed with the expansion of an in-depth Wellness and Cardiac Rehabilitation Center, “Mountain Hearts,” which includes the opening of a therapeutic swimming pool. In January 2011, the Mountain Family Care Center opened in its new location on the campus of the hospital. The MFCC offers afterhours care all week long.
