This 200 bed, non-profit, lightly academically affiliated Central Massachusetts Hospital is in the process of expanding its current staff of eleven full time Hospitalists to 14.
The Hospitalist Service assists with admissions, discharges, and inpatient care for the patients assigned to the Service. At the present time, the Service has been opened to all primary care physicians on the medical staff. The position available offers full time employment with benefits. The Service has a block schedule of 5 days on/5 days off. Currently there are two physicians who take the night shifts. If one of those physicians should come off the night shift schedule, the schedules of the other hospitalists will include a night shift rotation among the other hospitalists. Where physicians prefer to work nights, those requests will be honored, thus reducing the number of night shift rotations for the other physicians.
The salary for a full time Hospitalist is $190,000 per year + for experienced; a complete benefit package with health, dental, life, disability and malpractice insurance is a part of the benefit package. There is also a qualified pension plan. Leave time benefits include 4 weeks of vacation and 80 hours of holiday time each year. CME time off with pay is one week per year, plus a $1,000 allowance for CME expenses; an annual discretionary allowance of $500 is also available to physicians. Located in the foothills of the Berkshires in Western Massachusetts. Outstanding private schools are available at all levels (elementary, secondary, college); additionally, excellent public colleges are available in close proximity to the Medical Center. The cost of living in Western Massachusetts is significantly less than eastern Massachusetts. The Medical Center is located at the junction of major north/south and east/west highway systems for ease in traveling to the cities and shore. Can accept H1b visa candidates.
