Hospital located 2 hours north of Detroit is in need of ongoing Family Practice Weekend Inpatient Coverage starting in October 2009 and ongoing throughout 2010. If you have interest in moonlighting every other weekend, this opportunity is perfect for you.
Call starts on Friday and continues through Monday at 7:30a. Physician will be on call for admissions and consultations with assistance from Residents. Additional responsibilities include rounding on any patients in the hospital on Saturday and Sunday, handling H&Ps and discharge summaries with notes being written by the Resident assistants. Average number of admissions on a weekend is 3-5 per day. Daily patient census on the weekends is 15-20. There are no procedures required and there is a designated team in the hospital that will respond to any codes.
Candidates must be comfortable seeing patients of all ages including adolescents, children and newborns and some prior experience with rounds and admissions is required Hospital prefers candidates who are Board Certified with current life support certifications. Preference given to candidates with no disciplinary actions and no large malpractice settlements.
