Integrative Medicine/Medical Acupuncture Physician
Where: Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda MD
Education/License:
* Must be MD/DO
* Must have completed 300 hour Acupunture training course
* BLS/ACLS
* Board Certified in a sub category of American Board of Medical Specialties
* Have a current unrestricted medical license from any US State or territory
* DEA registration
* Must have one year experience in Acupuncture Therapy
Responsibilities:
* Prepare and review case histories and obtain data through interviews of patients.
* Examine patients and determine required x-ray examinations, clinical laboratory tests, and diagnostic as required.
* Interpret tests results and evaluate findings.
* Prescribe specific medication(s), diet, and/or treatment modalities. Admit and discharge patients to the wards
appropriately for ailments or diseases. Initiate and oversee specialty consultation service request. Confer with the
appropriate specialist as necessary
* Make necessary rounds to inpatients, as needed.
* Provide consultation services for members of the Military Treatment Facility (MTF) staff for purposes of specialty
area training. As required, the contracted HCP will serve in a teaching capacity to staff members assigned to the
MTF and ambulatory clinics.
